Helping Children Thrive at Home, in School and Beyond

Supporting children by partnering with the adults who know them best.

When your child is struggling, it can be difficult to know where to begin.

You may be seeing anxiety, big emotions, executive functioning challenges, friendship struggles, or changes at school and wondering, What do I do now?

Sometimes you just need someone to help you make sense of what's happening and figure out what to do next.

My practice focuses primarily on parent consultation and support and school collaboration, with the child always at the center. I work with parents to better understand what they're seeing, talk through concerns, and develop practical strategies that make sense for their child and family.

I also partner with families around school concerns, including preparing for school meetings, communicating with teachers, understanding accommodations and support plans, and advocating for their child.

When direct support would be helpful, I also provide individual therapy for children and adolescents.

You know your child best. My role is to help you understand what's going on, figure out what might help, and work together to help your child thrive.

You Know Your Child Best.

Together, we'll help them thrive.

Every child has moments when they struggle. They also have incredible strengths, unique personalities, and so much potential.

As a parent, you know your child better than anyone else. You know what makes them happy, what is hard for them, and the little things that make them who they are.

When something doesn't feel quite right, it can be hard to know what to do next. Maybe you've noticed growing worries, frustration after school, homework that suddenly ends in tears, friendships that don't seem as easy anymore, or changes in your child's confidence, emotions, or behavior.

Sometimes it's hard to know what's typical, what's temporary, and when it's time to seek a little extra support.

You don't have to figure it out alone.

My role is to bring another perspective, help you feel more confident, and work with you to figure out what might help your child.

Whether that means talking through what's happening at home, thinking about how school may be contributing, developing practical strategies, or figuring out whether additional support would be helpful, we'll start with what you already know about your child.

You know your child best. I'm here to help you make sense of what you're seeing and figure out what comes next.

Children don't experience life in just one place. And they don't leave their experiences behind when they move from one place to another.

Think about your child's backpack. They carry more than books and homework in there. They carry the excitement of a great day, the frustration of a difficult class, a friendship that isn't going well, worries about something coming up, or a success they're proud of. All of those experiences come with them.

That's why I believe it's important to look at the whole picture.

I began my career as a teacher and went on to spend more than 20 years as a school counselor in both independent and public schools before opening my private practice. With a Master's in Education and a Master's in Social Work, I bring a perspective that bridges education and mental health.

My experience helps me look beyond one behavior or one challenge and consider what else might be going on in a child's world. Together, we can think about what's happening at home, at school, with friends, and within your child, and how those pieces may be connected.

Whether you're seeking parent consultation, support navigating school, or individual therapy for your child, I want to understand the whole picture so we can figure out what might help.

Because sometimes what looks like “a problem” is really a child carrying more in their backpack than we realize.

Helping Children Thrive Wherever Life Happens

How can we work together?

Meet Rachel

Hi, I'm Rachel.

Supporting children and families has been at the heart of my career for more than 20 years.

I began as a classroom teacher and went on to work as a school counselor in both independent and public schools. Along the way, I saw how closely a child's emotional well-being, learning, relationships, family life, and school experience are connected.

Those experiences shaped the way I work today. I believe parents are an essential part of understanding a child, and that looking at the whole picture often gives us a better understanding of what a child needs.

My private practice allows me to bring together my experience in education and mental health while giving families the time and individualized attention that can be difficult to find.

Whether we're talking through a concern at home, navigating something at school, or deciding whether therapy would be helpful, my goal is to help you feel informed, supported, and more confident in knowing what to do next.

And ultimately, I want the same thing you do: for your child to feel understood, supported, and able to thrive.
